ZapTok is a Chrome extension developed and operated by ZapSolo that helps creators, marketers and researchers analyze TikTok profiles, compare video performance, identify standout content and download videos for research.

This Privacy Policy explains how ZapTok handles information when you use the extension.

Information ZapTok Processes

To provide its features, ZapTok may process publicly visible profile, video and engagement information from TikTok profile pages.

This information is processed for the purpose of providing ZapTok's profile analytics, performance analysis, research, export and download features.

TikTok Profile Analytics

ZapTok processes publicly visible TikTok profile and video information to calculate and display analytics directly on TikTok profile pages.

ZapTok may use this information to calculate relative performance, engagement rates, median performance, virality patterns, posting frequency, video duration performance and statistical outlier signals.

These calculations are used to help users identify videos that perform above or below a creator's typical performance.

Local Storage

ZapTok uses Chrome browser storage to save information required for the extension to operate and to remember user preferences.

Saved profile information and extension preferences are stored locally in the user's browser unless a feature specifically requires communication with an external service.

Video Downloads

ZapTok allows users to download individual or selected TikTok videos when media information required for the download is available.

Video downloads are initiated only when requested by the user. ZapTok processes TikTok-provided media information as necessary to perform the requested download.

Downloaded videos are saved to the user's device. ZapSolo does not receive or store copies of videos downloaded through the extension.

Users are responsible for ensuring that their downloading and use of content complies with applicable laws, rights and platform terms.

Saved Profiles and Exports

ZapTok allows users to save creator profile information locally and export profile and video performance data.

CSV files, downloaded saved-profile data and other exports created by ZapTok are generated at the user's request and saved to the user's device.

ZapSolo does not use saved creator profiles or exported research data for advertising or marketing purposes.

TikTok Website Access

ZapTok operates on TikTok profile pages in order to identify and process publicly visible profile, video and engagement information required for its analytics and research features.

ZapTok does not use this access to track unrelated browsing activity.

Data Sale and Advertising

ZapSolo does not sell ZapTok user data.

ZapTok does not use your TikTok browsing activity or creator research for targeted advertising.

ZapTok does not transfer profile research or browsing data to third parties for advertising, creditworthiness or unrelated purposes.

Analytics and Tracking

ZapTok does not use the extension to track your browsing activity across unrelated websites for advertising purposes.

Accounts and Personal Information

ZapTok does not require users to create a ZapTok account to use the extension.

ZapTok does not collect or store your TikTok username, password or TikTok login credentials. TikTok authentication is handled directly by TikTok.

Data Retention and Deletion

Information stored locally by ZapTok remains in your browser until it is removed through the extension, browser storage is cleared, or the extension is uninstalled, depending on the type of information.

Downloaded videos, CSV files and other exported files remain on the user's device until they are deleted by the user.

Security

ZapSolo takes reasonable measures when designing and operating ZapTok to protect information handled by the extension. However, no electronic transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Services

ZapTok operates in connection with TikTok pages and content. TikTok is a third-party service with its own terms and privacy practices.

ZapTok is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TikTok.

Children's Privacy

ZapTok is intended for content analytics and research purposes and is not directed toward children under 13.
